The Challenge
Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS) are the membership organisation for over 340 museums and galleries throughout Scotland.
Their previous website was not particularly well structured from an information heirarchy point of view and it was very hard for people to find the information they were looking at on the website.
Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS) wanted a website that would help the support their membership while also appealing to the public as a resource to help find information on museums, galleries, events and exhibitions across Scotland.
Our Response
We created a website that enabled the public to search for events and exhibitions happening across Scotland. The website makes extensive use of Google Maps to show the locations of events.
The website provides the member museums and galleries with a much easier way to access the support that MGS provides. Sharing valuable advice and information about funding, networking, support and training courses.
To help the museums and galleries promote themselves the website contains a micro-site for each member that they can keep up to date themselves using the Content Management System.
The rest of the website is maintained by approximately 30 editors using the Content Management System.
